Microsoft is bringing AI integration to one of its oldest tools, Notepad, in the best possible way. The Notepad will now have an AI Rewrite feature that will let the users rephrase the sentences, alter the content length, and even adjust the tone of their piece. As of now, the feature is only available as a preview for Windows 11 in a few regions – France, Canada, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Germany, and more. Microsoft is offering limited credits to users to experiment with the Rewrite feature. In addition, all the users residing in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Waitwan, with a Microsoft 365 or Copilot Pro subscription will also be able to use the feature. Until now, Microsoft has not said anything officially about the launch of the feature on a global level. However, we can expect to see the same in different markets pretty soon. And keeping in mind the limited credits scenario, we can say that the Rewrite feature for Notepad is going to be a paid one and will be most probably clubbed with one of Microsoft’s multiple subscriptions. Once the feature makes a debut in your region, using it is no rocket science. You just need to open Notepad on your system, write something on it, and then highlight the text you want to edit.
Now, you will see multiple editing options like length adjustment, rewrite, tone adjustment, and more. After selecting the command, you will get to see three variations of the text from which you can select the most suitable one. The changes will be directly applied to the original document from there.
