Samsung will soon let its smartwatch users access the Galaxy AI features. Launched with the Galaxy S24 series in January, Galaxy AI is coming to the Galaxy Watch models, but with a slightly different set of tools, designed to make health tracking more personalised and offer more comprehensive insights through the Samsung Health app. The Galaxy Watch users will see tools such as Energy Score and Enhanced Sleep AI with the on-device AI integration.
If you have used Galaxy AI features on one of the recent Galaxy smartphones, you may be familiar with tools such as Live Translate, Photo Assist, and Interpreter. But none of them is coming to the Galaxy smartwatches. Samsung is using generative artificial intelligence (AI) features to improve the smartwatch experience and enhance health and fitness measurement on Galaxy Watches. The following Galaxy AI features are coming:
Energy Score: If you have ever wondered how you have consumed your energy throughout the day, Energy Score will help you get insights into your daily condition. The score will be based on metrics such as average sleep time, consistency in sleep and wake times, previous day’s activities, sleeping heart rate and heart rate variability.
Wellness Tips: Galaxy AI will tailor suggestions based on how you fare through the day. It will offer personalised health tips and guidance on how you can achieve specific health goals.
Enhanced Sleep AI: Samsung is deploying AI to enhance sleep tracking on Galaxy smartwatches. As part of Enhanced Sleep AI functionality, there will be new sleep indicators that will provide a detailed analysis of your sleep quality. Other parameters such as movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate, respiratory rate, snoring hours, sleep cycles, and blood oxygen level are also taken into account to curate suggestions.
Running and Cycling Metrics: Samsung has updated the Personalised Health Rate Zone with new and detailed Aerobic Threshold (AT) and Anaerobic Threshold (AnT) Heart Rate Zone metrics for improved running metrics and performance analysis. Cycling mode will now offer Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics in 10 minutes with the help of AI, along with a personalised power index.
Samsung will roll out Galaxy AI to the next Galaxy Watch series as part of the One UI 6 Watch update, coming later this year. A handful of Galaxy Watch users can enrol in the beta programme in June.
