Motorola might be gearing up to re-enter the smartwatch market with an updated model of its iconic smartwatch, the Moto 360. A new series of leaked images suggests that the Moto 360 (2025) comes with an updated design, boasting a premium stainless-steel look. Even though the design looks more sophisticated than previous iterations, at least one aspect remains unknown – will the smartwatch run Google’s Wear OS, or will it be limited to Motorola’s own software? According to a leak by Android Headlines, the new Moto 360’s build consists of a polished stainless-steel body with a circular dial, a rotating crown, and an additional button on the right side of the smartwatch. The Moto 360 (2025) also has matching metal bracelets, which gives it a more premium look compared to the earlier generations of the Moto 360, which featured sporty rubber straps. Based on its looks, this new generation is being positioned as a premium smartwatch, likely to appeal to customers who want a more classically-designed smartwatch. Motorola first launched the original Moto 360 in 2014 as part of a select number of smartwatches that ran on the Android Wear operating system (now known as Wear OS). A second-generation model followed in 2015, but the brand took a backseat afterward. In 2019, the Moto 360 name was licensed to a third party, which released a third-gen model. Since then, the series has largely disappeared from the spotlight. Also Read: 7 Best Budget Phones Under Rs 15000 In November 2025 For Streaming, Social Media, And Photography
While previous Moto 360 watches ran on Wear OS, it’s still unclear if the 2025 version will continue with Google’s software. If it does, it may launch with Wear OS 6 – the latest version expected to power most upcoming Android smartwatches. Still, there hasn’t been any official confirmation.
The leak says that the Moto 360 (2025) will come in five colour options, but we’ve only seen one image of the device so far. With competitors like the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch in the Wear OS space, it will be interesting to see how Motorola differentiates itself among its competitors.
