Reliance Jio is levelling up its prepaid game with a fresh lineup of 5 gaming plans. These come bundled with free access to the JioGames Cloud. The JioGames Cloud has console-level games that users can straight-up play directly from the cloud. There is no need for downloads or high-end hardware making it accessible to anyone. Users can simply stream and play across your smartphone, PC, or Jio set-top box.

This launch signals Jio’s serious intent to tap into India’s rapidly growing cloud gaming space. This also gives them a chance to promote their ultra-fast 5G and expanding fiber networks. With these new prepaid options, Jio users get a low-cost ticket into cloud gaming, starting at just Rs 48.

Details about the New Plans 

The base plan starts at just $s 48 and gives three days of access to the JioGames Cloud along with 10MB of data. This is a perfect plan for those who want to try out the service before investing a huge sum of money. 

The Rs 98 plan stretches the cloud access to a full week and comes bundled with 10MB of data. Both the Rs 48 and Rs 98 plans are essentially data vouchers. This means that the users will need an active base prepaid plan for them to work.

Coming to the more expensive plans, the Rs 298 plan steps things up by offering 3GB of data alongside a full 28 day subscription to JioGames Cloud. While it’s still technically a data voucher requiring an active base plan, it’s a much smarter choice for someone just wanting cloud gaming without jumping to the pricier options. Then there’s the Rs 495 plan that is the real deal. It is a full prepaid pack that delivers 1.5GB of daily data plus an extra 5GB, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day for a whole 28 days. Along with the JioGames Cloud access, it also adds mobile only Disney+ Hotstar subscription, a FanCode subscription, JioTV, and even access to Jio’s AI Cloud services. 

Basically, the Rs 495 plan is an all in one entertainment package designed for gamers and streamers who want the complete experience. Details about the 5th plan aren’t fully revealed yet, but it’s likely to be a high-tier version with more bundled content.

At the moment, these gaming plans are only available to prepaid users. Jio hasn’t extended these benefits to postpaid or broadband customers yet. But if these plans get popular then we might get a broader rollout soon.

With cloud gaming gaining momentum globally, Jio’s right on time. The move to bundle JioGames Cloud access with affordable data packs makes a strong pitch to turn smartphone users to use their devices as portable gaming consoles.
