Xiaomi was one of the few brands to have launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered phones last year. The company announced the flagship Xiaomi 13 series in China in December, without mentioning anything about its launch in other markets. It seems we have got our hint. Xiaomi has confirmed it is holding its event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, and it is expected that the company will launch the flagship Xiaomi 13 series for the global market.
The Xiaomi MWC 2023 event will be held between February 27 and March 3. The poster for the event says that “new Xiaomi technology” will be showcased, which indicates the new phones from the company. Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro at the MWC event, but a 91Mobiles report suggests the event could see the debut of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra or the Xiaomi 13S.
There is not much known about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra right now, but some earlier rumours suggested the phone could come with a QHD+ AMOLED display with either a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra may come running Android 13-based MIUI 14 and have Leica-branded cameras on the back.
Since the event may also see the global debut of the Xiaomi 13, these are the specifications you can expect. The Xiaomi 13 will come with a 6.3-inch OLED display with Dolby Vision, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 50-megapixel triple cameras, 32-megapixel front camera, 4500mAh battery with 67W fast wired and 50W wireless charging, and stereo speakers. There will also be a Xiaomi 13 Pro up for launch, if rumours are true. The Pro model uses the same processor but has a slightly bigger screen, better cameras, and a larger battery with the capacity of 4820mAh and support for 120W fast wired charging.
