Vivo is getting ready to launch its sleekest foldable yet. Some real-life images of the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5 have also surfaced online, showing that the phone is actually slimmer than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. These images have come directly from Vivo product manager Han Boxiao. Not only does the phone look stunning in the leaked images, but it’s also shaping up to be shockingly thin for a foldable device. news Also Read: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Specifications Leaked; Galaxy S26 Or Galaxy S26+ May Not Launch

The shared images show the Vivo X Fold 5 (in its folded state) against the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is expected to be 8.25mm thick. The X Fold 5 is just a hair thicker at 9.33mm when folded, and a jaw-dropping 4.3mm when unfolded. This makes it one of the slimmest foldables on the market. news Also Read: Vivo X300 Pro Leak Shows Flagship With ZEISS Optics And 7,000mAh Battery: Here's What To Expect

Despite the folding mechanism and larger footprint, Vivo is going all-in on making this phone ultra-light as well. It reportedly weighs just 209 grams, which is 10 grams lighter than last year’s X Fold 3 (219g). This phone is surely shaping up to be a new benchmark for large-format foldables.

Vivo X Fold 5 Leaked Specifications

Some rumours have given us an idea of the key specifications of the Vivo X Fold 5. Under the hood, Vivo’s next foldable might be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. For the outer display, the Vivo X Fold 5 could sport a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the main display is expected to be an 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED, also with 120Hz. The whole package could be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging. That’s impressive as fitting such a large battery into this slim form factor could lead to noticeably improved battery life.

On the camera side, the foldable phone is expected to feature 32MP selfie cameras on both the outer and inner displays. On the rear, the phone might get a triple camera setup consisting of a 50 MP Sony IMX921 main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom. All of this will mostly be tuned by Zeiss, leading to flagship image output. Vivo is also said to be bringing triple protection, which could mean water, dust, and drop resistance. If true, that would make this one of the most durable foldables on the market.

With all these leaks, the X Fold 5 is shaping up to be a serious competitor in the foldable space. Thanks to its thin and light form factor, this could be a very interesting phone to use. No official launch date has been confirmed yet, but with the steady stream of leaks, we might get an official announcement soon.
