OnePlus is all set to bring one of the major Android updates for its devices — the OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. OnePlus has already confirmed that the OxygenOS 16 update in India will be available on October 16 for the eligible devices. While the details are scarce to know what new we will get, but it is certain that the OxygenOS 16 is all set to make the experience better with a new set of AI features.

OxygenOS 16 Update Eligible Devices

Not all the devices will get the upcoming OxygenOS 16 update. If you are using the latest devices by OnePlus, then chances are you will be one of the first users to get the update. Here are the eligible devices for the OxygenOS 16:

• OnePlus 13 Series – OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13s
• OnePlus 12 Series – OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R
• OnePlus 11 Series – OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R
• OnePlus Nord Series – OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Nord 3, OnePlus Nord CE 5, OnePlus Nord CE 4, OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite
• OnePlus Open
• OnePlus Pads – OnePlus Pad 3, OnePlus Pad 2, OnePlus Pad Lite, OnePlus Pad

If you are using the OnePlus 10 series phones or any phone older than that, then you will not be eligible for the OxygenOS 16.

Another fact for the eligible devices is that it is not necessary to get the OxygenOS 16 update on the first day of roll-out, that is, October 16. The OnePlus 13 series is expected to get the update first, and then it will be available for other devices.

Once available, simply go to the Settings app, visit System & Update, click Software Update, and check for the latest update. If it is available, click on Install & Download.

OxygenOS 16 Features

Based on what has been revealed so far, the OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, is expected to add a slew of AI features. The “Plus Mind” tab is said to get the Gemini, which will let the AI assistant to get the screenshots to answer your queries. The lock-screen widget might be coming back, while the UI is expected to bring a fresh look to icons, better animations, and some changes to settings and the notification panel.
