Flipkart’s Diwali sale is in full swing, with discounts on smartphones and gadgets. However, the most controversial deal – the Nothing Phone 3 at a steeply discounted price – has turned buyers’ experience frustrating. Although it was initially listed for as low as Rs 39,999, nearly half off the launch price of Rs 79,999, many customers are claiming cancellations of their orders and delays in delivery, recalling last month’s iPhone 16 sale fiasco. Shortly after the sale began, social media platform X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with complaints by buyers whose confirmed orders were later cancelled. Tech tipster Abhishek Yadav shared a screenshot showing his Nothing Phone 3 order worth Rs 26,000 being cancelled by a Flipkart seller, citing an “incorrectly listed price.” His post quickly gained traction, with others chiming in that they too received refunds and apology messages after snagging what seemed like unbeatable deals. Some buyers even reported bizarre issues – one user detailed an eight-time failed pickup attempt for a return request, with scheduled dates from October 3 to October 7 repeatedly missed. Another said his order had been “stuck at the nearest hub for a week,” only for the delivery date to be pushed back again without notice. Many buyers claim that Flipkart’s logistics and seller systems are struggling to handle the Diwali rush.
The situation feels eerily familiar. During the recent Dussehra sale, Flipkart faced similar backlash when multiple iPhone 16 orders were delayed or cancelled after customers grabbed heavily discounted units. Now, the Nothing Phone 3 appears to be following the same pattern, leaving frustrated users wondering if Flipkart’s festive sales are a sham.
Still, not everyone was left empty-handed. A small group of buyers who ordered early – especially through Flipkart Minutes – confirmed successful deliveries at the lower sale price. For them, the experience has been a jackpot.
