Apple’s next-gen A19 Pro chipset is coming soon, and early leaks are already giving us a glimpse into what to expect. According to a new report, the chip might not bring massive gains over last year’s A18 Pro. But, it could still deliver impressive single-core performance and even possibly surpass the Apple M4. Apple is set to launch the iPhone 17 series this September, with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both these Pro devices are expected to feature the A19 Pro SoC. Now, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station gives us our first peek at the chip’s potential performance numbers. Also Read: 5 Best iPhone 17 Alternatives To Consider If You Didn't Like It
The leak suggests the A19 Pro scores around 4,000+ in Geekbench 6’s single-core test, and approximately 10,000+ in the multi-core benchmark.
This means that the performance boost when compared to A18 Pro is not huge but, is a minor generational upgrade. But, considering that Apple already leads in terms of performance this is enough for all multitasking needs and even some heavy gaming.
The A19 Pro will reportedly use TSMC’s 3nm fabrication node, just like the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and MediaTek Dimensity 9500. All three chipsets are expected to land around the same time, setting up a major battle for flagship smartphone performance this fall. Not only this but, previous leaks have also hinted at a redesign for all the Pro models. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models will have horizontal camera bars. This makes them stand out as this is the biggest design change since the iPhone 11 series. Along with this, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max might feature a 48 MP telephoto rear camera, which is a big upgrade from the 12 MP lens on the iPhone 16 Pro.
