Netflix is introducing two new benefits for its premium members that include spatial audio support for 700 titles and an increase in the number of download devices from four to six. The new titles that now come with support for spatial audio include The Watcher, Wednesday, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and will be added to new titles as they’re released, including You, Your Place or Mine, Luther: The Fallen Sun, Tour de France and more. Spatial audio is enabled automatically when you are streaming a compatible TV show or movie using stereo audio. Notably, not all movies or TV seasons are available with spatial audio support. Also Read: Tere Ishk Mein OTT release: Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s film arrives on Netflix
As per the company, “Spatial audio is intended for built-in stereo speakers on any device receiving a stereo stream. It also provides a more immersive experience on headphones. Spatial audio is primarily optimized for laptops and tablets. It’s also noticeable on TVs (up close) and phones with stereo speakers (usually when in landscape mode).”
Another feature introduced is that premium users will now be able to download content on six devices instead of four.
As per the blogpost, “With people more connected than ever through multiple devices, we’ve learned through research that members would like the option to download Netflix series and films to watch offline on more devices, particularly as they travel and switch between devices.”
For the unversed, Netflix is expected to release its paid password sharing feature for all users in India. With this feature, if a subscriber adds an “extra member” outside the household will have to pay a certain amount of fees.
