Meta has just rolled out a major privacy-focused update for WhatsApp, which gives users more privacy and security. This new update adds an “advanced chat privacy” feature, which makes the security and privacy of WhatsApp even more stronger. The feature is now available on both Android and iOS, and users can access it by updating to the latest version of WhatsApp.  news Also Read: WhatsApp’s New iPhone Update Brings A Liquid Glass Design, But Also A Strange Mute Bug

Once turned on, this feature prevents the export of chats or group conversations, disables automatic media downloads, and restricts messages from being used in AI-based features. This solidifies the platform’s security system on top of WhatsApp’s end-to-end encrypted chat system. While it doesn’t yet block screenshots, Meta has hinted that this functionality could be added in future updates.

To use this feature, both users need to be on the latest version of WhatsApp. The feature will also work on the web and desktop versions of WhatsApp so make sure that you enable the feature for added security across all devices.

For users who want extra privacy, WhatsApp continues to support disappearing messages with customisable timers and the option to lock specific chats with biometric authentication such as fingerprints or facial recognition.
