IRCTC Down: Thousands of Travellers Frustrated, No Ticket Reservation, Booking Cancelled

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has faced a major outage affecting its services including Online booking, cancellation, instant ticket booking Ticket booking could not be done on Monday due to IRCTC website being down. Travellers are facing huge disruptions and problems, especially those who want to book Tatkal Tickets. Users encountered several problems, including making payments, hindering transactions, and booking tickets. Some also reported issues in receiving and viewing their tickets.

People are complaining about IRCTC being down on Twitter. However, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has not acknowledged about the issue so far. When you login at IRCTC’s website, you will witness a message that says ‘DownTime’. The message says ‘Due to maintenance work, the e-ticketing service will remain closed for the next 1 hour’.

IRCTC page is down for 1 hr at the crucial time of Tatkal ticket booking while our Rail Minister is Busy making Reels.

For ticket cancellation or filing TDR, people are being asked to call the customer care number or send an email. Usually the maintenance of IRCTC server is done at night, but as soon as the time for booking Tatkal tickets came at 10 am, the server went down. Some people are calling the app delivering the most pathetic service and suggesting that IRCTC is incompetent in handling the traffic. Some users are also saying that despite charging Rs 35 on every transaction, the government is not able to deliver effective services on IRCTC.

The notable spikes in complain rises at 10:00AM when the app and website opens for the Tatkal ticket booking. Users took to social media and complained about the disruptions and complaining about the service. People are also talking about the cyber attack on IRCTC’s website. However, nothing can be confirmed until IRCTC’S make an official statement or press release.
