Android XR Event Livestream, Teaser Page, Gemini AI Tie-in

The Android XR event will be livestreamed on the Android Developers YouTube channel. Google’s teaser page features a countdown, along with a sign-up option for notifications. The description on the page mentions that Gemini AI will play a role in making interactions “more conversational, contextual and helpful,” suggesting that Google’s AI model will be deeply integrated into Android XR experiences.

The teaser page also shows Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset, indicating Google’s continued collaboration with Samsung on the XR platform. The Galaxy XR, launched last month in the US at $1,799 (roughly Rs 1,62,000) for the 16GB + 256GB variant, runs on Android XR.

Smart Glasses Prototype Shown Recently

Google recently showcased an early Android XR smart glasses prototype at the Future Investment Initiative event in Riyadh, developed in association with Magic Leap. The prototype features thick frames, a front-facing camera, microphones, an in-lens display, and built-in speakers. The company had first teased Android XR Glasses during Google I/O in May. Google is also collaborating with Samsung, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker on future smart glasses models.
