The new Airtel fraud detection system is powered by a multi-tiered AI intelligence platform and scans internet traffic in real time. It cross-checks with global threat databases and Airtel’s own repository of risky domains to block harmful websites instantly. When a subscriber tries to open a malicious link, the system stops the page from loading and redirects the user to an explanatory block page, keeping them safe from potential scams. According to Airtel Vice Chairman and MD Gopal Vittal, the solution has already proven highly accurate during six months of trials.
This fraud detection service is rolling out first in Airtel’s Haryana circle and will soon expand nationwide. The best part is that it gets automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers at zero extra cost. This launch follows Airtel’s recent spam control features introduced earlier this year, which added free spam alerts for calls and SMS, including those from international numbers.
With cybercrime on the rise, Airtel’s new AI-powered shield could be a big win for millions of users looking for safer browsing.
