It’s been a year since Vivo refreshed its T-series in the budget segment. The company launched the Vivo T1 5G in February of last year with Snapdragon 695 SoC and a high refresh rate display.
It appears that its successor is coming soon as the Vivo T2 5G was spotted on Google Play Console certification. The certification sheds light on the phone’s key specifications. Unfortunately, the company may not bring major differences to the T2 5G.
The Vivo T2 5G has passed the Google Play Console certification. The device has the model number ‘V2222’ and it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset. This is the same chipset as its predecessor Vivo V1 5G, which means its successor may not bring anything new, if performance is to be considered.
While the Snapdragon 695 chipset is old, it is still a popular choice in the budget segment. Recently, Poco launched the Poco X5 with the same chipset. There’s the Oppo Reno 8T which was launched earlier this month with the same chipset.
Apart from the chipset, the device will feature a Full-HD+ resolution panel of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It will have a screen density of 440 DPI. Interestingly, the device has 8GB of RAM and it boots on Android 13 OS.
It appears that the newest operating system and higher RAM would be the phone’s key selling factors once it launches. Currently, there’s no information on the phone’s cameras, as of yet.
As for the predecessor, it was launched with a triple camera system with a 50MP main lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. We can expect Vivo to bring a similar camera setup on the T2 5G.
Given that this is just a certification, we can’t delve further. But let’s wait for the official confirmation by the brand.
If the specs alone are to be considered, the device may arrive for under Rs 20,000.
