  • Samsung Galaxy S23's base model is tipped to have slower storage.
  • The 128GB variant will likely have UFS 3.1 storage, while other variants are expected to feature UFS 4.0 storage.

Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy S23 series on February 1. If the design is kept aside, there are a few things that will make the series stand out.

Firstly, the lineup is expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Secondly, it will have a faster UFS 4.0 storage type and LPDDR5X RAM.

However, it appears that Samsung would cut costs in its base variant of the S23 by offering slower and older storage.

Samsung Galaxy S23 to have UFS 3.1 storage

According to IceUniverse, the Samsung Galaxy S23’s base variant, i.e. the 128GB storage variant will feature UFS 3.1 storage. For the uninitiated, the UFS 4.0 storage type succeeds the UFS 3.1. That said, Samsung appears to cut costs with its base variant.

Other variants will likely stick to UFS 4.0 storage paired with LPDDR5X RAM and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The Galaxy S23 series is expected to come with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage. The higher 1TB option will be limited to the Ultra model and the 128GB will likely be limited to the vanilla S23.

As for the other specs, the Galaxy S23 will feature a 6.1-inch punch-hole display with an FHD+ resolution. It will be a Dynamix AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It will have a triple-camera system with a 50MP main lens, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

The S23+, on the other hand, will have a 6.6-inch punch-hole display with a QHD+ resolution. The other display specs of the Plus model will likely be the same as the vanilla unit. The camera setup as well will again be the same as the S23.

The premium S23 Ultra will feature a mammoth 6.8-inch Dynamic curved AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate QHD+ resolution and 2200 nits of peak brightness.

The device will have a quad-camera system with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 main lens. It will be assisted by an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto, and a periscope camera.
