Samsung has launched the Galaxy A17 5G smartphone as a successor to the Galaxy A16 5G in select markets.

Samsung has introduced its Galaxy A17 5G smartphone, succeeding the Galaxy A16 5G, in select markets. In terms of hardware, the device is quite similar to its predecessor. The Galaxy A17 5G runs on Android 15-based One UI 7 and comes with IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy A17 5G.

The Galaxy A17 5G sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the octa-core Exynos 1330 chipset, which also powered the Galaxy A16 5G in some markets. For photography, the Galaxy A17 5G features a dual camera setup on the rear headlined by a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus. It is accompanied by a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 13MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video chats.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A17 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
Out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G runs on Android 15-based One UI 7.

In Europe, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G price starts at €239 (approx. Rs 24,500) for the base 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The handset will also be offered in a 6GB RAM + 256GB storage option.
