Motorola Razr 50 affordable clamshell foldable to launch on September 9: Check specs

Motorola is all set to launch a new smartphone in India dubbed Motorola Razr 50. The smartphone is scheduled to go official next month and we now have its official release date. The clamshell foldable will arrive in the premium segment, however, will be cheaper than the Razr 50 Ultra launched a couple of months back.

Motorola Razr 50 launch date in India, expected pricing

The upcoming Motorola Razr 50 is scheduled to launch on September 9. Upon launch, the smartphone will be available for purchase on Amazon India website. The smartphone is expected to arrive at around Rs 60,000. Notably, the Razr 40 was launched last year for 59,999 and now it’s selling for just Rs 34,999.

Motorola Razr 50 specifications and features

Motorola hasn’t revealed all the details of the device yet, however, it has given a sneak peek of what you can expect. Also, the Razr 50 is already available in select global markets so its specs are known. The smartphone will get last year’s Razr 40 Ultra’s design, with a larger cover screen that’s more usable. This will be a big upgrade from the Razr 40’s smaller cover display.

Motorola has confirmed that the cover screen will be sized 3.6 inches and have 1700 nits of peak brightness. The 90Hz P-OLED panel will support 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Interestingly, the cover screen of the phone will support Gemini Assistant, Camera, Google Maps, and more.

As for its main display, the global unit has a 6.9-inch pOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset paired with base 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Further, the device has an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

The flip phone has a dual camera system on the rear with a 50MP main lens and a 13MP ultrawide lens. It has a 32MP camera on the front for selfies. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps.

Coming to the battery, it has a 4,200mAh cell with 30W wired and 15W wireless fast charging support. It boots on Android 14 OS out of the box.
