iPhone 16 may launch in seven colour options: Here's everything you need to know

Apple is set to launch the iPhone 16 lineup later this year in September or October. Ahead of its launch, several rumours about the phones in the series are emerging. A fresh new rumour suggests that Apple will bring new colours this time with the iPhone 16 Plus and possibly the base iPhone 16. These colours may not be flashy or vibrant, but rather, they could be lighter shades. Let’s take a look at the new colours reportedly coming to the base iPhones. iPhone 16 Plus may get seven colours

According to a Weibo leaker (via MacRumors), the iPhone 16 Plus may come in as many as seven colours. These colours will either include two new shades alongside the existing five colours in the iPhone 15 series, or they will all be fresh colour variants. Following are all seven rumoured colours of the upcoming iPhone 16 Plus: Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, Black, White, and Purple. The White and Purple will be the new additions. It will be interesting to see whether Apple retains the light colour shade or goes for a more vibrant palette.

Usually, the colours for base iPhones are the same. Apple’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have the same colour options. However, it’s unclear if the iPhone 16 Plus’ new colours will be exclusive or if the vanilla iPhone 16 will also get them.

Apart from the base iPhones, the Pro model may also see some colour changes. This time around, Apple is expected to retain the Natural Titanium colour from the iPhone 15 Pro and add three other shades. So we may see the following four colours: Natural Titanium, Rose or Desert Titanium, Silver or White Titanium, and Space Black Titanium.

Apple may skip the Blue Titanium shade this time and replace it with Rose or Desert Titanium. The Black Titanium could be replaced with Space Black Titanium. We expect the new Titanium shades to be less prone to scratches. Apple is also expected to work on the durability of these phones.

It is to be noted that Apple hasn’t confirmed the aforesaid colour options of the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup. That said, do take the above information with a pinch of salt.

Other than colours, the base iPhone 16 models will have a slight design change on the back. They will also likely get the new A17 chipset, if not the A17 Pro. Further, they will boot on iOS 18, which is said to enable on-device AI features.
