Google Pixel 8a launched with AI-features, starts at Rs 52,999

Ahead of the Google I/O event on May 14, Google has unveiled the much-awaited Pixel 8a smartphone in India. Google Pixel 8a is a premium mid-ranger that borrows design cues and some of the specs from the Pixel 8. Some of the highlights of the smartphone include a better display, more storage, and AI features. Let’s take a look at its price. Google Pixel 8a India price, colours, and availability

Google Pixel 8a is priced at Rs 52,999 for the 128GB variant and Rs 59,999 for the 256GB variant. Buyers get a Rs 4,000 bank offer on partner bank cards. There’s also a Rs 9,000 exchange bonus. Google Pixel 8a specifications and features

The Google Pixel 8a features a 6.1-inch display with an FHD resolution. It has a faster refresh rate of 120Hz, up from 90Hz on the Pixel 7a. The panel has 2,000 nits of peak brightness and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device has curved corners for better grip. It borrows design cues from the existing Pixel 8.

In terms of the optics, it features a dual camera system on the back with a 64MP main lens and a 13MP ultrawide lens. It has a 13MP camera on the front for selfies. The rear camera on the phone can shoot 4K videos. Google has added several AI features available on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on 8a.

These features include Best Take to choose the best photo, Magic Editior to erase unwanted objects in a photo, and Audio Magic Eraser to remove distracting sounds in videos. Apart from these, the device also has the Circle to Search feature that allows users to search for things on the screen by just scribbling or circling.

A Tensor G3 chipset powers the phone. This is the same chipset seen in the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro models. The smartphone has LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. As for the battery, it packs a 4,400mAh cell with fast charging support. It runs on Android 14 out of the box. It supports 7 years of software and security updates.

Other features of the phone include an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It has dual stereo speakers for audio. There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security. The device has 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GNSS suite.
