
Samsung has announced the date for its first Galaxy Unboxed event of the year. The company has announced that it will be hosting its Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event on February 1, 2023. Unlike past couple of events, Samsung is hosting an in-person event in San Francisco this time. However, interested people, or those who aren’t able to attend, will be able to watch the event live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s YouTube channel at 10AM PST or 11:30PM IST.
At its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event, Samsung is expected to showcase its next generation flagship smartphones, that is, the Galaxy S23 series. While the company hasn’t specifically mentioned that it will be launching the Galaxy S23 successor at the event, it has said that the “new Galaxy S series will be the epitome of how we define the ultimate premium experience”.
“A new era of Galaxy innovation is coming. Our innovations are designed to enable incredible possibilities for people today and beyond. The new Galaxy S series will be the epitome of how we define the ultimate premium experience. We’re raising the bar and setting new standards for what’s epic,” Samsung wrote its invite, indicating that the inevitable launch of the Galaxy S23 series.

Interestingly, the announcement comes just days after Samsung’s Colombian website accidentally leaked a poster of the upcoming Galaxy Unboxed event before the unofficial announcement. Tipster Ice Universe had tipped a similar date for the event last month.
As far as details regarding the upcoming Galaxy S23 series are concerned, Samsung hasn’t divulged any details regarding the event yet. However, reports suggest the Galaxy S23 series will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and get a 12MP selfie camera. Reports also suggest that the top model of the lot, that is, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will get a massive 200MP camera.
Coming to the specifics, the Galaxy S23 is likely to get a 6.1-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate, a 3,900mAh battery with support for 25W wired fast charging technology. The Galaxy S23 Plus, on the other, is tipped to get a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate, a 4,700mAh battery and support for 25W wired fast charging technology.
Lastly, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is tipped to sport a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2200 nits. The phone’s camera setup is also likely to include two 10MP telephoto lenses with 3x and 10x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide camera. It is tipped to get a 5000mAh with support for 25W fast charging technology.
