Apple’s iPhone 17 series went on sale in India today, and the launch drew big crowds in Delhi and Mumbai. Fans lined up outside Apple stores hours before the doors opened, hoping to grab the new device on day one.
At the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) store in Mumbai, the rush got out of hand. People had been waiting since dawn, and when the doors finally opened, the crowd pushed forward. A scuffle broke out between a few customers, with punches exchanged before security stepped in. The situation was brought under control quickly, and sales went on as planned. Many walked out with their new iPhone 17, posing with the boxes for photos.
In Delhi’s Saket mall, the scene was more orderly but no less crowded. Fans began lining up before sunrise, determined not to miss out on the first-day buzz. Among them was Manoj, a buyer from Ahmedabad, who said, “I come from Ahmedabad every time. I have been waiting since 5am.”
The iPhone 17 lineup starts at Rs 82,900 with 256GB storage as the new base. The series includes four models:
Powered by Apple’s latest A19 and A19 Pro chips, running iOS 26, the phones are designed to work seamlessly with Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI-driven features.
Apart from Apple’s official stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune, the iPhone 17 series is also available online via Apple’s website, e-commerce platforms, quick-commerce apps, and authorized resellers.
