WhatsApp is the most used instant messaging app in India. The app offers a slew of features making texting someone fun and convenient. However, WhatsApp for a long time didn’t allow you to send messages to others without saving their contact number in your phone. But that changed sometime back and now you can send a WhatsApp message to others without saving their number. Sometime back WhatsApp started allowing you to message others simply by searching their contact number in the Search bar. However, don’t click on the Search bar directly, you need to go to the New Chat section and then search for the contact. Let’s see how. Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your Android and iOS smartphone.
Step 2: Tap on the Plus icon (+) in the upper right side on iPhones. It should be located in the lower right side on Android.
Step 3: Now, enter the contact number that you want to send a message to in the search bar. You can also copy and paste a number.
Step 4: You should see the contact in the results. Tap on the chat button to start chatting with the person.
That’s how you can send a WhatsApp message to others without saving their contact number.
Using WhatsApp link
There’s another method you can use to message others on WhatsApp without saving their number. This method requires you to create a link. This is the method everyone relied on before WhatsApp allowed you to directly message unknown numbers through Search.
Step 1: Open any browser on your phone. iOS users can open Safari or Chrome and Android users can use Chrome or any other browser.
Step 2: Enter the following link in the address bar – https://wa.me/91XXXXXXXX.
Step 3: Now, replace all Xs with the number you want to send a message to. For instance – https://wa.me/919812345678.
Step 4: Tap on Search and the browser should redirect you to WhatsApp. In WhatsApp, it will show you the contact. Tap on the Chat button next to it to start chatting with that person.
