The survival title has been praised for its gritty and immersive take on the Dune universe. This drops the players into a hostile open world on the desert planet Arrakis. From battling dehydration and sandstorms to encountering massive Shai-Hulud sandworms, players must survive, explore, and adapt in a shared multiplayer world.
Funcom also addressed all the requests from fans about improved PvE support. The studio confirmed plans to evolve the game so that the players can explore, build, and compete without the pressure of constant player vs player conflicts.
While Dune: Awakening is currently available only on PC, Funcom also confirmed that console versions are in the works. The game is expected to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2026.
