Indian gamers can soon get their hands on Asus’s latest handheld gaming consoles as the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are available for pre-orders starting today, October 7. Asus and Microsoft’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) and Xbox collaboration brings console-level power to a portable form. It must be noted that the devices have already gone live in markets like the US, UK, and Australia, and India is next in line. The company teased the India launch with the tagline: “One console. The ROG Xbox Ally X is the top-end model, designed for those who want maximum power and performance. It runs Windows 11 Home, powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, paired with 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB SSD. You get a 7-inch Full HD 120Hz display with AMD FreeSync Premium, an 80Wh battery, and a 65W fast charger. The controls are inspired by Xbox’s wireless controllers, complete with contoured grips, impulse triggers, and customizable back buttons. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, dual USB-C ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, making it one of the most versatile handhelds around. On the other hand, the standard ROG Xbox Ally is a slightly toned-down version but still delivers solid performance. It’s powered by the Ryzen Z2 A processor, with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and the same 7-inch 120Hz FHD display. It’s lighter at 670 grams, packs a 60Wh battery, and includes all key connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C ports.
Globally, the ROG Xbox Ally X is priced around $999.99, while the standard ROG Xbox Ally retails at $599.99. However, the Indian prices are yet to be disclosed.
For Indian gaming enthusiasts, both models are now up for pre-order in India from October 7, ahead of their official launch on October 16. You can register on the ROG India website and get early access to the first batch.
