Ubisoft has confirmed that the Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will include all major updates and free content added since launch on other platforms. That said, not everything will be available at launch. The Claws of Awaji expansion will remain exclusive to PC and consoles for now, with the Switch 2 version expected to arrive sometime in 2026.
The Switch 2 edition will also bring a few platform-specific features. Players will get full cross-progression support via Ubisoft Connect, so they can pick up their progress across devices without losing any data. Ubisoft has even added touchscreen functionality, letting players navigate menus, explore the world map, and manage their hideout using touch gestures.
Ubisoft has detailed its upcoming content updates for Assassin’s Creed Shadows this fall. The Title Update 10, arriving October 28, will introduce the second “parkour update,” adding an advanced parkour toggle in the settings. Players will be able to perform side and back ejects from any height, execute smoother downward parkour moves, and use an expanded vertical ledge grab system.
The Title Update 10 will also bring a new mode called “corrupted castles.” This feature will let players revisit completed castles filled with new enemies, mini-bosses, and hidden rewards.
Next up, Title Update 11 is set to arrive on November 25, bringing a free story quest called Puzzlement. Ubisoft describes this quest as a more lighthearted mission in the style of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, featuring the main characters Naoe and Yasuke learning new skills from one another while solving an environmental puzzle. A special collaboration event is also planned as part of this update, though details remain under wraps.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows originally launched in March 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
