Poco and Realme launched two powerful mid-rangers in India this week. The Poco F6 comes with a Snapdragon 8 series chipset, whereas, the Realme GT 6T packs a Snapdragon 7 series SoC with a similar architecture as the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Both phones also have pretty similar specifications, including cameras and screens. This has put the buyer in a dilemma as to which of these phones he should pick. If you are in the same situation and want to decide between anyone before their first sales begin, you are at the right place. In this comparison, we will let you know the major differences between the two so you can make a clear choice. That said, let’s see the comparison without wasting any more time.

Poco F6 vs Realme GT 6T: Design and display

Poco F6 comes with a clean design on the back with a notable camera design. The GT 6T also has a clean look, but it’s aesthetically pleasing to look at. The Poco F6 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has 68 billion colour support and an HBM brightness of 1200 nits, peak brightness of 2400 nits. It has Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Realme GT 6T, on the other hand, features a slightly larger 6.78-inch LTPO curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It has 1 billion colours and 1600 nits of HBM brightness, 6000 nits of peak brightness. Further, it has a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Overall, the GT 6T has a better screen as it has LTPO support that can take the refresh rate down to 1Hz (which will help with the battery life), a brighter screen, and stronger glass. However, if you are not a fan of curved screens, then Poco F6 could be for you.

Poco F6 vs Realme GT 6T: Cameras

Poco has gone with a dual-rear camera system on the back for the F6. It has a 50MP Sony IMX882 main lens and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide lens. As for the Realme GT 6T, it boasts a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main lens and an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor. The main camera on both phones has OIS and supports 4K videos at 60fps.

That said, both phones may offer similar camera performance, however, Realme’s camera may offer more saturated colours. There’s a 20MP selfie snapper on the Poco and a 32MP front camera on the Realme. The GT 6T’s front shooter can click 2x selfie portraits, so that’s a plus.

Poco F6 vs Realme GT 6T: Performance, battery, OS

Coming to the performance, the Poco F6 is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, whereas, the Realme GT 6T packs a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Don’t get confused by the naming, as the 8s Gen 3 is actually an upper mid-range chipset and not a flagship chip, and the 7+ Gen 3 isn’t your usual mid-range SoC. It’s built on the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chipset.

So, which one is better? The answer to that may differ on paper, but in real-life usage, you may not see a big difference. Both should be good for gaming and offer 90 FPS in games like PUGB Mobile. If you are here for the benchmark scores, they both exceed the 1800 mark in the single-core department and the 4,500 mark in the multi-core department. Overall, though, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is slightly powerful.

As for the battery, the Realme leads here as the GT 6T packs a 5,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The Poco F6, on the other hand, houses a 5,000mAh cell with 90W charging support. Also, since GT 6T has LTPO, you may get a slightly better battery life.

When it comes to the OS, both run on Android 14 with HyperOS on Poco F6 and Realme UI on GT 6T. Both come with some bloatware pre-installed, but Poco has more of it. However, it comes with several software features such as lock screen customization and some AI features like Sky editor or object eraser for photos in Gallery.

Which one to buy?

Overall, for gaming, you won’t be wrong with any of these phones. However, the Poco F6 offers a slightly better raw performance but comes with lots of bloatware.  The Realme balances it with good performance, comparatively cleaner software, and a better battery life & fast charging support.
