This a huge step taken from YouTube’s side because as of now, there are 100s of YouTube channels that thrive on deepfake content. The synthetic identification tool has already been developed by the YouTube team and now they are developing the fac detection tool at a fast pace. YouTube Vice President, Amjad Hanif, mentioned that the tools are an initiative to provide the creators with better control of how their content is used on the platform. news Also Read: YouTube Premium Lite In India Launched: Enjoy Ad-Free Experience At This Price Now

He further said in his blog post that scraping any creator’s content from the platform for training an AI model is a straight up violation of YouTube’s terms of service. Nonetheless, creators will have the authority to allow third parties to use their content for AI model training. This is a crucial step for YouTube in times when AI-generated content is getting a little out of hand. With the way new laws are being pitched and introduced everywhere to curb AI content, it will be interesting to see the process these AI-content companies adopt to survive in the market.
