Google is widening its AI reach with its AI Mode, an artificial intelligence-powered search engine. The tech giant is making it accessible in different languages to more users across the globe. The Mode was only available in the English language, but it can now be accessed in Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese. It means millions of people will now be able to interact with Google Search AI Mode in their own language, hence making the experience even more personal.
To recall, AI Mode in Google Search became available earlier this year as a limited feature for Google One AI Premium subscribers. Nevertheless, over time, Google expanded it steadily, first in the United States and then in other countries like the U.K., India, and more.
Last month, the company made it available to 180 new markets. By making it accessible in other languages, Google is showing its intent to move its AI Mode beyond an experiment, and hence, making it a standard part of search for users worldwide.
At the heart of the AI Mode is a tailored version of the Gemini 2.5, which has significantly improved language understanding in Search. It means it can handle text, images, and reasoning tasks all together.
It will allow users to ask complicated questions and then compare information and dig deeper into topics. It doesn’t require opening multiple links, and its goal is to make search more useful by giving richer answers directly on the page.
In August, Google mentioned introducing ‘Agentic’ abilities in its AI Mode. With the help of agentic abilities, users can now ask the AI with tasks like finding restaurant reservations for them.
The future updates are expected to include booking appointments for local service or even securing event tickets.
The update is currently available in the U.S. for the Google AI Ultra subscribers. It is available at a monthly plan of $249.99.
