Apple made some major announcements at the WWDC 2025. One of the biggest announcements was the new set of Apple Intelligence. These features that elevate the user experience across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Here is everything you need to know about these features.
Genmoji and Image Playground have got some pretty cool upgrades and now provide users more creativity to express themselves. Additionally, the users can now mix together emojis and create something completely unique. Users can also customise images inspired by family and friends using Genmoji and Image Playground by adding their personal attributes to match looks.
In Image Playground, users can tap into brand-new styles with ChatGPT. This ranges from an oil painting style to a vector art. Image Playground utilises the user’s description or photo and creates a unique image. The best part is users are always in control, and nothing is shared with ChatGPT without their permission.
Apple has also introduced Live Translation using their Apple Intelligence. This allows users to communicate across languages when messaging or speaking. The experience is integrated into Messages, FaceTime, and Phone making it accessible and easy to use. In Messages, Live Translation can automatically translate messages. This is really useful for those who want to converse in different languages as the text is translated live. On FaceTime, Apple makes it easier for the conversions to flow as they translate live captions while still hearing the speaker’s voice. These new features are great for reducing language barriers and making conversations more fun.
Apple Intelligence extends to visuals as well with their visual intelligence. This new feature lets the user’s iPhone screen be a direct way for them to search and take action on anything they’re viewing across their apps. It lets users search for objects and places around them using their iPhone camera, and it now enables users to do more, faster, with the content on their iPhone screen.
A great demo was when Apple showcased this by clicking on a picture of a lamp and it led to search on Google and redirected to Etsy. This is similar to circle to search, but takes things above a notch by also allowing visual intelligence to recognise an event and suggest adding it to their Calendar. Apple Intelligence does its role as it extracts the relevant data to create an event.
Apple also introduced Workout Buddy which is a great application of Apple Intelligence. This gives a unique workout experience as it uses the user’s workout data and fitness history to generate personalised messages during their workout sessions. This is a great way to use AI and keep users motivated throughout their workout sessions.
It uses a new text-to-speech model then translates insights into a dynamic generative voice built using voice data from Fitness+ trainers. The interesting part is that Workout Buddy is available across a variety of workout types ranging from outdoor and indoor run to functional and traditional strength training.
Apart from all this Apple has deeply integrated Apple Intelligence into the apps and experiences that will help users in their day to day tasks. For example, Apple Intelligence can sort out the most important content in an email, website, note, and automatically categorise it in Reminders. It can be used for rewriting, proofreading, and summarising the text users have written. Clean Up in Photos allows users to remove distracting elements while Image Wand can transform a rough sketch into a refined image.
Siri is more natural and helpful as well with the new option to type to Siri and tap into its product knowledge. There is a lot more and the best part of all these new AI features is that they are designed with privacy in mind. Apple Intelligence uses on-device processing, meaning that many of the models that power it run entirely on device. This is a great step by Apple in the right direction as it protects user’s data while giving them all the futuristic features.
