
YouTube has a fairly large gaming community that regularly streams gaming videos and even tournaments on its platform. And now, the company has announced a new feature that will give the gaming community on its platform a major boost. YouTube today announced a new feature called ‘Playables’ that will let users play free games on its platform.
YouTube said that it has been testing Playables, which it describes as ‘a collection of free games you can play directly on the platform’ with a limited set of users in select countries. Now, after few months of testing, the company is releasing this feature to all its users globally.
Furthermore, the company said that Playables consists of over 75 games that YouTube users can play on its platform for free. This means that YouTube users don’t need to purchase the subscription for individual games to play it. However, it remains unclear if users will require YouTube subscription to access the games.
As mentioned before, YouTube Playables consists of over 75 games. The list includes:

As far as availability is concerned, Playables will be available on YouTube’s Android and iOS-based apps and on its desktop-based platform.
Coming to the specifics, Playables supports iOS version 14 and newer with YouTube app version 18.33 and higher. Talking about Android, Playables supports Android S and above with YouTube app version 18.33 and higher. Lastly, talking about YouTube’s desktop version, Playables supports Chrome, Safari, and Firefox web browsers.
Step 1: Open YouTube on the platform of your choice.
Step 2: Head over to the Explore tab.
Step 3: Tap the Playables option.
Step 4: Tap the game that you want to play and you’re good to go.
It is worth noting that YouTube is not the first platform that has introduced games on its platform. The video streaming giant first introduced Netflix Games on its platform back in 2021. As of now, Netflix Games has a library of over 80 games.
