YouTube is bringing new updates for YouTube Shorts. One of the major highlights is that now the users will be able to upload up to three-minute videos on Shorts. Furthermore, we will also get to see a revamped Shorts player, new templates, and a trending page for Shorts on mobile devices. It is pretty clear that with this move, YouTube is tightening its belt to wage a war against TikTok.
YouTube Shorts’ new templates will allow the user to find templates by tapping on the Remix button on a Short they see. After that, the users will see a ‘use this template’ option that will let them use a sound clip, or a trend while creating videos. In addition, YouTube has also stated that users will be able to fetch multiple clips from YouTube sources and use them in a single Short.
The look of the Short player will be optimized in order to give the video all the attraction by reducing the space taken by other content on the screen. And when you pause a Short, you will see a new ‘Trends’ option at the top of the screen that will open up a Shorts Trending page once clicked. Here, you will be able to find the Shorts that are grabbing eyeballs.
That’s not it, Google is also planning to launch its AI Model Veo this year for YouTube Shorts. The model offers an advanced understanding of natural language and visual semantics. It will allow the users on the platform to create backgrounds and generate unique ideas that would require a lot of effort if it were not for the Veo AI model. Nonetheless, all the content generated with the help of Veo will be labeled as ‘Generated with AI’ on Shorts.
