Story Highlights

  • Gemini Q&A is available for broader testing.
  • You can get it by signing for Workspace Labs.
  • In future, it will possibly be a part of Google One AI premium subscribers.

In the Google I/O 2024, we got to see a preview of the Gemini Q&A panel. And now the feature is being rolled out broadly on Gmail for Android and iOS (for all those who are a part of workspace labs). Gmail Q&A will bring the side panel available in the desktop app for Android and iOS applications. However, the limited display on smartphones is nothing less than a design hurdle that has been overcome by Google.

You can access the feature by tapping the sparkle icon available at the top-right corner of the screen that opens the Gemini sheet. After that, you can enter a full prompt there, while some suggestions for the same are offered. To understand with an example, if you tap ‘show unread emails from today/week’ then Gemini will initiate a search based on that particular filter.

Not only this, but the Gemini button also appears in the app bar when you open the email. This will open up another sheet to enter a new prompt or use any other query from the suggestions. The feature can also be accessed on single emails which will be very beneficial for newsletters and detailed emails.

In addition, Gemini Q&A has a pre-session history. Apart from that, you can also expand the panel according to your preference to take up the entire screen. Furthermore, the app will also allow the users to ‘Clear History’ in the corner.

TRENDING NOW

Currently, Gmail Q&A is being rolled out for all those who have enrolled for Workspace Labs. You can join the program by visiting the official Google Workspace panel here. After the testing of the feature is completed, it will most probably become a part of the Google One AI Premium subscription. Until then, you can enjoy the feature for free by just being a part of the Google Workspace Labs program.
