Gemini Live is one of the best things that Google has ever introduced for user convenience. And now, the brand is working on introducing the feature for Android Auto as well. In a report published by Android Authority, the latest Android Auto v12.8.143544 hints at Gemini support in the future. The most prominent hint is the sparkle icon introduced in the Android Auto app that indicates Gemini functionality in the application.
The icon comes with a monochrome look as can be seen in the XML file. The file name of the icon is denoted by the word ‘kitt,’ which is most probably the name of Gemini integration with Android Auto. Apart from that, we can also get to see the word ‘live’ in the string name as well as the ‘Start Conversation’ text which sums up the addition of Gemini Live to the application. In addition, the Android Authority team also spotted the ‘GeminiLiveAssistantAction’ function in the Android Auto application.
And to put a stamp on it, the GeminiLiveAssistantAction function in another area of the app code which means that the mention of Gemini Live is not only a coincidence. As for Gemini Live, the feature is only available for Gemini Advanced subscribers who have signed through Google One AI Premium subscription. The feature will be available for all Android Auto users who are subscribed to the Google One plan.
Keeping in mind that Gemini Live is making everything easy, it will be interesting to see how the feature will enhance the experience of Android Auto users. As of now, there is also no official confirmation regarding the launch of the Gemini Live feature for Android Auto. However, speculations are that if it gets successful in the development stage, we can soon see the same making its way to the stable version of the application.
