Story Highlights

  • Nothing will launch two new earbuds on April 18.
  • The photos of the Nothing Ear and Ear (a) have been leaked.
  • Their prices are also out ahead of the launch.

Nothing is coming up with two new truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds on April 18. They are called the Nothing Ear and the Nothing Ear (a), much like how Apple names its products without adding a number for every successive year. Although Nothing is not so secretive about its products and teases them ahead of the launch, it will never so much as reveal the full details. A new leak has done just that ahead of Nothing’s launch, spoiling the fun for the company. It has shared full specifications and press photos of both earbuds, leaving almost nothing to the imagination.

Nothing Ear

The Nothing Ear, successor to the Nothing Ear (2), will feature a rectangular case with a transparent lid, while the earbuds will borrow the designs of previous generations. There are at least two colourways seen in photos: black and white. These earbuds will likely come with an IP54 rating for resistance against dust and water splashes, while the charging case may just have an IPX2 rating. Nothing’s upcoming earbuds may offer more than 7 hours of battery life without active noise cancellation, but that increases if you count the charging case’s backup of 33 hours. According to Android Headlines, the Nothing Ear will cost EUR 150, roughly ₹13,553.

This is what they would look like:

Nothing Ear (a)

The Ear (a) will be a cheaper pair of earbuds, but they will be more attractive between the two. If the leak is anything to go by, the Nothing Ear (a) will be the company’s first product to come in a bright yellow colour that immediately grabs attention. The report also mentions that the yellow colourway is “more eco-friendly,” but why is unclear immediately. These earbuds will be cheaper than the Ear but will not lose out on features such as active noise cancellation, dual connection, and quick battery charging. Interestingly, the Ear (a)’s charging case will have an IP55 rating, while the earbuds stick to the IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. The total battery backup, including that of the charging case, will likely be 38 hours.
