WhatsApp has launched a new feature to help Community users organise events for members, allowing them to plan meet-ups, virtual meetings, birthday parties, dinners, and more. Anyone can create an event that other members can respond to, informing the entire group about who's coming and who is not.
The new events feature, WhatsApp says, will bring Community members closer as they can come offline to meet and greet each other and continue their conversations on their favourite topic in the real world.
WhatsApp has announced that Events are coming to groups that belong to a Community first, but will eventually be available to all groups over the coming months.
WhatsApp has also announced the rollout of the ability to respond to Announcement Groups so admins can hear what the members have to say about an announcement, keeping the groups an easy place to catch up on what's happening in your Community.
Anyone who is a part of a group belonging to a Community can reply to an announcement that admins can see in a categorised manner. The Replies are grouped together and minimised so you can see what others have said about the topic.
WhatsApp said the rollout of replies to Announcement Groups has begun and the feature will be available to Communities in the coming days.
Meta-owned WhatsApp also said that it will roll out new features to Communities and groups so people have more tools to have conversations in an organised way on WhatsApp.
Additionally, WhatsApp is also working on features to improve the chatting experience. For instance, it is currently working on the Recently online list to suggest which contacts were recently online, giving users an idea of who is more likely to respond to a message immediately.
