X, one of the world’s leading social media, is expected to bring a new feature to its platform-video conferencing. As per reports, the tech giant started testing this upcoming feature in order to expand beyond traditional social networking and microblogging.
One of X’s employees Chris Park posted a tweet about the new conference meeting tool. Elon Musk, X owner, reverted on the post with a fire emoji, which means something new is coming soon. The decision to bring a video conferencing feature isn’t entirely surprising, keeping in mind the importance of video calls in digital communication age. The video calls feature have now become an integral part of both personal and professional life.
First ever 𝕏 Conference meeting with some of my great @X and @XDevelopers teammates.
Already a really strong alternative to Google Hangouts, Zoom, AWS Chime, and certainly… Microsoft Teams 🤠

The video conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom have seen exponential growth in the post-pandemic era. The video-based communication has widely been accepted and X aims to tap into this market, by providing users with a more convenient platform.
X has reportedly witnessed some struggle during a high-profile streams, like Musk’s recent talk with Donald Trump. However, Musk blamed the issue on “DDOS attack.”
While the tech giant has not yet made any official announcement. But as per rumors, the feature could allow users to initiate video calls directly from within their X accounts. The feature is still in the testing phase, but it could focus on seamless interaction with existing features, such as, X’s audio chat rooms.
The upcoming feature could help content creators in live sessions, Q&A sessions, and live interactions with followers. Businesses and influencers might use it to host virtual events or product launches directly on Twitter, leveraging their existing follower base for engagement.
