The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro was a big hit in the foldables market, and it looks like Vivo could be planning to recreate the same success with their upcoming foldable. The next foldable is shaping up to be a beast. While we’re still waiting on an official launch date, leaks and rumours have started to float around, and we might have gotten an idea of the key specifications of the upcoming foldable, likely to be called the Vivo X Fold 5.

Vivo X Fold 5 Specifications

The Vivo X Fold 5 is apparently going to be incredibly thin — just 4.3mm when open and 9.3mm when closed, making it slimmer than the already sleek X Fold 3. For comparison, the Vivo X Fold 3 measured 4.7mm when open and 10.2mm when closed. The upcoming Vivo X Fold 5 looks like it could even be thinner than many standard slab phones.

The display is apparently also getting an upgrade with a 6.53-inch cover screen and an 8.03-inch inner screen, both AMOLED with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. For performance, Vivo might be planning to go with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Although the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite would have been a better choice, the standard 8 Gen 3 is still a great processor that can handle multitasking efficiently.

In terms of battery, it is rumored to be packing a 6,000mAh battery. If this is true, it would make it the largest battery ever in a foldable phone. The X Fold 3 had a 5,500mAh battery, so this is a noticeable jump, and this upgrade could finally put an end to the typical one-day battery anxiety most foldables suffer from. On the charging side, we might see a slight downgrade to 90W wired charging, but that’s still blazing fast.

On the camera front, expect dual 32 MP selfie shooters on both displays and a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a new 50 MP periscope zoom lens. We can expect some great processing from Vivo, similar to what we saw in the X200 series, with noticeable upgrades in photo quality and image optimisation.

Vivo X Fold 5 Launch Date

The Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to drop in China first, followed by a global release. For reference, the X Fold 3 Pro landed in India last June starting at Rs 1,59,999, so expect a similarly premium price tag. If all this holds true, Vivo’s next foldable might just be the most well-rounded foldable of 2025 offering great power and practicality.
