You might have seen a thousand-dollar luxury watch, and perhaps heard of a million-dollar watch, however, those watches simply do not justify their worth. But a new Switz watchmaker has unveiled a watch that deserves its worth and will make your jaw drop. Greco-Genève has made a unique smartwatch that is made up of an asteroid. Yes, you heard that right. The Asteroid is a $1.1 million (roughly Rs 9 crore) timepiece that was made from a meteorite from the Asteroid belt that landed in Argentina.
The watchmaker hinted that the company’s Founder Stéphane GRECO was inspired to make possible asteroid watch from the first moon landing.
“In July 1969, a man stepped on the moon for the first time. From then on, we knew we had the power to flirt with the exceptional. What if the height of luxury was to display “The Asteroid” on his arm proudly? Stéphane GRECO realized it and is capable of making us dream as no one has done so far,” noted Greco-Genève in a post on its official website.
The Asteroid watch was cut from a meteorite from the Asteroid belt in its original form. Interestingly, the main body of the watch is fluorescent, which means it can glow in ultraviolet light.
“Stéphane GRECO, in his research and development laboratory, brought him one of the most amazing features, he made it fluorescent. It takes on its full meaning under ultra-violet light.”
The engraving on the white gold background bezel is inspired by the scriptures shown in the movie Predator. The watch dial is placed in the center and the strap goes from within the rocky asteroid body. The entire construction of the watch is rough to make it look more sturdier and luxurious.
