Google is all set to kick off its annual event, Google I/O on 20th May. The tech giant before its official event hosted a special Android show called ‘The Android Show: I/O Edition’. It is company’s special presentation that takes place right before the annual Google I/O conference. The event is just like a warm-up event where Google gives a sneak peek at all the latest and upcoming developments in the Android world.

Material 3 Expressive:

On May 13th Google hosted an extra show called The Android Show I/O 2025 and showcases several technological advancements that the company is planning to bring. One of the major highlights was the introduction of the fresh design style called Material 3 Expressive. This new update is all about personalization, smoother animations, dynamic colors, and more playful typography. This feature will make the Android experience even more alive and tailored to the user.

Gemini:

Another major part of the show was Gemini, Google’s AI assistant that the tech giant is now expanding beyond just smartphones. The Gemini as per Google is now coming to smartwatches, Android Auto means Cars, Google TV, and with mixed reality headsets called Android XR. This will make Gemini more available and helpful across all your devices.

Android 16:

The next thing that was focused in the event was security and hence Android 16 now includes smarter protections against scams. It will now include better calling filtering and scam detection in Google Messages. All these things will be done using AI that works directly on your phone and hence you wouldn’t be needing any cloud. Additionally, there’s also added security to prevent apps from tampering with phone calls.

Wear OS 6, Find My Device Hub:

Not just these, Google also showed off several improvements to Wear OS6 and promising better and longer battery life and smoother performance. It will also feature the same new expressive design found in Android 16. At last Google unveiled Find My Device Hub, now called Find Hub which is now more powerful than before. Now it doesn’t only have the ability to track your smartphone, but also third-party devices and even your friends, family, and relatives. In addition, Google will also bring future updates that will work with satellite and advanced tracking tech.
