Qualcomm is finally planning to launch its next top tier flagship, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, and it’s arriving earlier than expected. The chipmaker just confirmed during its Computex 2025 keynote that the next Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 23 to 25 in sunny Hawaii, and we’ll likely see the announcement of the much-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. news Also Read: Honor MagicPad 3 Pro Launched With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12,450mAh Battery; MagicPad 3 (12.5) Also Announced

What can we expect from the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2?

This next-gen chip is rumoured to be a powerhouse. According to early leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 could outperform its predecessor by up to 26% on AnTuTu, while the new Adreno GPU is rumored to be 30% faster than last year’s model. That’s a big jump, and it’s coming thanks to a combo of Arm v9 instruction set magic, custom Nuvia CPU cores, and TSMC’s efficient N3P node. news Also Read: OnePlus 15, OnePlus Ace 6 To Launch In China Tomorrow: Key Specs Revealed

The biggest thing is that Qualcomm is still sticking with a 6+2 CPU layout, but the performance leap should be more than noticeable. We can expect smoother gaming, faster multitasking, and better thermal efficiency. This will be an upgrade worth noticing, as Qualcomm may also add more AI capabilities and make the new chipset more capable of processing AI tasks directly on-device. news Also Read: iQOO 15 India Launch Confirmed For November: Specs, Features, And Everything We Know

Devices that could pack the new Qualcomm’s chip

The Xiaomi 16, OnePlus 15, and Realme GT8 Pro are just a few of the phones expected to pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, with launches kicking off as early as October 2025. But the biggest surprise is that Samsung might skip it.

Samsung reportedly wanted a “for Galaxy” version of the chip built on Samsung Foundry’s SF2 node, but now it seems to be doubling down on its in-house Exynos 2600. It’s a bold move, especially since this new Qualcomm chip looks like a massive upgrade over the last one and skipping it could be a big miss for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series series

That said, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 won’t be the only one getting major upgrades. Apple’s A19 Pro is on the horizon, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 could also add more spice to the competition.
