Samsung is rolling out its One UI 7 today with a host of AI features, enhancements, and improvements. Now, the company is focusing on its upcoming foldable smartphones and with them a major software upgrade. The company is expected to bring One UI 8 with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The upcoming One UI 8 will be powered by the Android 16 and will bring several new features, design enhancements, and upgrades.
As per resources, Samsung is expected to bring its next-generation foldable smartphones including Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Both the smartphones are reported to be powered by One UI 8 out-of-the-box and run on the Android 16. To recall, Samsung always brings its One UI updates after annual Android update cycle.
For instance, One UI 6 debuted in October 2023 and One UI 7 got delayed and released on 7 April 2025. But as per reports, the upcoming One UI 8 might break this trend and get a early release. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7 but nobody else could use it at that time. The stable update of the One UI 7 will start rolling out today.
As per rumors, the tech giant could bring its next software update One UI 8 potentially in June or July 2025 with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The prior reporting suggests that the tech giant has already started internal testing for One UI 8. A tipster recently spotted the internal test build of the One UI 8 on company’s official server. This was listed as ‘newfound test firmware.’
We don’t have anything officially, neither when Samsung will unveil its next-gen One UI 8 nor what will be the features of the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. However, rumors were revealing the features and specifications of the upcoming smartphones. Rumors suggest that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have the major design changes including 4.5mm thickness.
