Samsung is all set to roll out its highly anticipated next big software update, and that is One UI 8. It will be based on Android 16. Nevertheless, there’s no official information regarding the launch, but signs of its arrival are everywhere. The tech giant has already set up the dedicated One UI 8 beta program page. In addition, there is also an addition of the banners in the Members app and community forums that interested person can check out. These pages suggest that the roll-out could begin any day now.
From what we have seen from past several years, Samsung is expected to start the beta rollout with its flagship and premium devices including the Galaxy S25 lineup. This means the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra are almost certain to be the first in line. If this happens, then it means the brand is following the same previous patter that it had with the One UI 7 beta. To recall, One UI 7 was first launched for the Galaxy S24 series.

Interestingly, there have been several leaks and reports coming to the forefront about One UI 8 beta build. It has recently been spotted by the tipster Tarun Vats. The new and recent One UI 8 beta build is labeled with the code numbers including S938BXXU3ZYEA, on Samsung’s servers. However, the code numbers were later updated to S938BXXU3ZYER on May 27. This showcases and hints that the internal testing is underway for the One UI 8.
Samsung recently launched its Galaxy S25 Edge under the Galaxy S25 series, but it might not be the part of the One UI 8 update right away. If it does, it’s likely to come later due to Samsung’s staggered rollout strategy.
However, we can expect that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Fe could ship with the One UI 8 pre-installed. This indicates it’s not going to be part of the bets rollout.

Talking about the fact that will older Galaxy devices going to receive the One UI 8 update, most likely yes! However, not immediately! If we notice the previous pattern on the Samsung’s roadmap, then older phones like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 might receive the beta later. To recall, One UI 7 didn’t reach older and foldable devices until months after initial launch.
Early beta access will likely start in several countries and these are Samsung’s key regions for beta testing and usually see new updates before others.
