Samsung’s next foldable flagship could be a game-changer for the foldables market. Rumours suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 might become the slimmest foldable device ever. While we are still a couple of months away from the expected Unpacked event in July, leaks have already started hitting the internet.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to retain its signature book-style design with refinements to its overall form factor. This upcoming foldable could not only be the most powerful one yet with major performance upgrades but also thinner and lighter sporting slimmer bezels. There is also growing anticipation that Samsung might upgrade the under-display front camera, offering a true full-screen experience without any interruptions.
Along with these upgrades, it’s also being said that S Pen support might get even better this year, with the possibility of a dedicated slot built right into the device. If this comes true, then this would be amazing as it will make carrying around the stylus more natural rather than a hassle. Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and fast UFS 4.0 storage. We can also expect it to run One UI 7 based on Android 15, packed with some serious multitasking features and a sprinkle of Galaxy AI magic on top.

Alongside this, Samsung seems to be also working on something futuristic for their foldable devices with detachable displays. According to a recent report, Samsung has filed a new patent in the US that reveals a foldable phone with a detachable display. This could be an innovative way to remove the issue of the hinge. Similar, patent was seen a few days ago from Vivo as well. While the next-gen Galaxy Z Fold might not feature this just yet, it definitely adds a sense of excitement for future devices in the foldable category.
As of now, the launch date and key details seem to be under wraps, but typically Samsung holds its summer Unpacked event in late July or early August. We can also expect the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
