Reliance Launched JioPC, a Cloud Based Virtual Desktop Service: Here's What We Know and How to Use

The Indian telecommunication company has unveiled JioPC, which is a cloud-powered virtual desktop service. The service is aimed at turning a regular television experience into a fully functional personal computer.

Here’s What We Know About the Newly Launched Reliance JioPC:

Reliance Industries has unveiled a virtual desktop called JioPC in order to provide an affordable computing system to Indian. The desktop is built to work seamlessly with the existing Jio set top box. This will not just bring affordable computing to millions of households across the country, but will also replace the traditional PC or expensive hardware.

Reliance JioPC Availability and Price in India:

Currently, the Reliance JioPC is rolled out on a free trial basis and can only be access via invitation. This cloud computing solution stratight to your television can be experienced just by connecting a keyboard and mouse to your Jio set-top box.

This will eliminate the need for traditional PC and offers a simple and affordable alternative solution for everyday computing use.

The Jio set-top box that will enable this functionality is priced at Rs 5499 and you can ourchase it with select Jio broadband plans. However, it doesn’t support webcams and printers. Additionally, the JioPC also comes with LibeOffice  and users will be able to use the Office tools  through their web browser.

As soon as users launch the JioPC application on their television, the display transforms into a cloud-powered virtual desktop, offering a familiar computing interface driven entirely by remote servers.

The first step is to open the JioPC App inside the apps menu.

Now, connect your USB or Bluetooth, keyboard, and Mouse to the set-top box.

Fill your basic personal details and click on Confirm button.

Click on the Launch Now button.
