Reliance’s 47th AGM was held today and there are a lot of announcements that can get the fans excited. Jio has also announced the debut of a new software solution called JioTV OS which will work as a base for Jio set-top boxes. The operating system has been crafted to support large TV screens to offer an enhanced user experience. The OS comes with support for up to 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support to deliver top-notch audio and video quality.
The JioTV OS will support all the popular OTT platforms along with offering TV shows in one single service, and live television streaming. Apart from that, the brand has also introduced a new voice assistant, Hello Jio, as a part of the JioTV OS. The Hello Jio voice assistant will let the users control their set-top box and discover new content by voice. It is backed by generative AI for better natural language processing and offering more human-like results.
The JioTV OS includes a Jio AppStore, crafted specially for JioHome. The app store gets educational, fitness, and shopping apps with a touch of augmented reality. The same can also control smart home accessories like security cameras, smart lights, and more.
That’s not it, Reliance has also introduced a few updates for the JioTV+ application that provides access to 800 TV channels with HD support for OTT platforms. And the best part is that not it integrates the content from OTT and live TV in a single login. Not only this, but the JioTV+ users will pretty soon get the feature for pausing live TV and resuming it as per their preference.
As for JioHome, it is designed to make Indian homes smart by connecting them to IoT. You can use it to customize the experience you get in your rooms. For example, the air condition starts as soon as you enter a particular place. And all these solutions are entirely in sync with JioTV OS. Apart from that, the JioHome app will serve as a control center for the ecosystem with features like malware detection and guest Wi-Fi management.
