Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC to Launch in April; Specifications Surfaces Online: Check Details

Qualcomm is all set to launch its next chipset dubbed Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The prominent chipmaker will reportedly reveal the snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC in April. To recall, the tech giant revealed its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in 2024. The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC will be the affordable alternative to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There have been several leaks and rumors hinting towards the chipset’s specifications.

A renowned Chinese tipster known as Digital Chat Station revealed the specifications and rumored launch of the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC via Weibo. The upcoming chipset has been spotted with a model number SN8735 with 1+3+2+2 core setup. This will be little different from the flagship cores of 2+6 Oryon found in Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

• 1× 3.21GHz Cortex X4 Core
• 3× 3.01GHz Cortex A720 cores
• 2× 2.80GHz & 2× 2.02GHz Cortex A520 cores

There are several specifications that somewhere down the line is similar to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset including the Adreno 825 GPU that’s going to be part of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. The same GPU generation is available in the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with Adreno 830.

As per Digital Chat Station, the chipset will have TSMC 4nm process but with little bit change in the core layout. Leaks specifications suggest that Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 will feature:

• 1x Cortex-X4 prime core at 3.21GHz
• 3x Cortex-A720 cores at 3.01GHz
• 2x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.80GHz
• 2x efficiency-focused A720 cores at 2.02GHz

The report also hints towards smartphones that’s going to be powered by this upcoming chipset. Upcoming  iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro will be the first smartphones to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.
