Qualcomm finally launched its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in China. The company hosted a special event in the country and revealed the company’s top-end SoC. The newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is a successor to last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 launched in May 2024. Now smartphone manufacturers will soon launch their handsets powered by the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Specifications:

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 comes with Qualcomm® Hexagon™ NPU along with a 2x larger shared memory for improved memory bandwidth. In addition, it also features Qualcomm® Sensing Hub and support for INT4 and INT8 precisions. If we put comparison between the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 8 Elite then the later will be more advanced and powerful. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is used in premium and powerful smartphones like Galaxy S25 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is based on the 4nm process and is built on the ‘1+3+2+2′ architecture. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is equipped with the Game Super Resolution 2.0 that as per company ‘intelligently upscales low-res game scenes in up to 4K’

The other features include Qualcomm® FastConnect™ Mobile Connectivity System that delivers Wi-Fi 7 with speed up to 5.8 Gbps. It also comes with Bluetooth 6.1. The company compared the Snadragon 8s Gen 4 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and mentioned that its latest snapdragon delivers more performance, which is 31% better CPU, 49% better GPU, and 44% better AI performance.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 also comes ith Elite Gaming features that include “Real-Time Hardware-Accelerated Ray Tracing with Global Illumination, Marvel at authentic light rays, shadows, and reflections.”

The company also expanded its Personal Area Network (XPAN) technology with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 that offers seamless mobile gaming.
