What exactly happened

As per a report by Android Authority, a Reddit user has shared a video on the community – showing the Pixel 10 Pro XL facing severe display glitches, lag loops, and screen bleeding while running Genshin Impact. The post went viral in no time, with many speculating that the game’s developer, miHoYo, might have dropped GPU support for the Pixel 10 lineup. news Also Read: Google Meet Down In India: Users Unable To Join Calls

This reasoning arises from Genshin Impact version 5.0, which reportedly ended support for PowerVR GPUs. Notably, the latest Google switched from Arm’s Mali GPUs (used in the Pixel 9 lineup) to new PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPUs for the Pixel 10 series. This has made players wonder if the new hardware change might have caused compatibility issues with the game. news Also Read: Google Pixel 10 Price Dropped By Rs 10,000 During Black Friday Sale: Check The Deal Here

Google’s response

Google has now issued a clarification, stating that Genshin Impact has not removed GPU support for the Pixel 10 series. The company added that it has “partnered closely with miHoYo over the past year for Pixel 10,” suggesting that both sides are aware of the issue and are working on optimising the experience.

While the authenticity of the viral video remains uncertain, the situation does highlight early software or optimisation hiccups that often accompany new hardware launches. In Genshin Impact’s own patch notes, miHoYo warned that some devices may experience “frame rate drops, instability, or crashes” even if they technically meet the minimum requirements – possibly explaining what users are seeing on the Pixel 10.

For now, it appears that Genshin Impact does run on Pixel 10 devices, but some players might face occasional performance issues until further updates arrive.
