Nothing Phone 2 gets OpenAI's ChatGPT integration: Here's how to access the feature

Earlier today, Nothing confirmed it’s bringing ChatGPT integration to Nothing phones. This comes as part of the Nothing OS 2.5.5, allowing users to add ChatGPT widgets in different modes on their home screen. Further, it brings quick ways of searching for information on the AI chatbot.  The feature is already available on Nothing Phone 2. But is it coming to other Nothing phones? Read to find out.

Nothing OS 2.5.5 makes accessing ChatGPT easier

Nothing OS 2.5.5 allows Nothing phone users to easily access the ChatGPT AI chatbot. Once the device is updated to the latest version, users also need to update the ChatGPT app on their via the Google Play Store.

After you follow these prerequisites, you should see ChatGPT widgets in the widgets section on your Nothing Phone 2. The widget has different modes such as voice or chat, allowing users to access ChatGPT right on their home screen with a single tap.

Nothing has also added a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up, letting users directly paste the content to a new conversation in ChatGPT. This makes searching for information seamless.

All Nothing devices supported

While these features look cool, the integration is currently only available to Phone 2 users, as confirmed by Carl Pei. However, don’t fret, as the newly released Nothing Phone 2a and older Nothing Phone 1 will also receive the feature soon. They should eventually see the widgets on their home screen.

Nothing OS 2.5.5 also brings ChatGPT voice support to the newly launched Nothing Ear and Ear (a) TWS earbuds. This integration for earbuds means that users can press and hold to activate ChatGPT voice on their earbuds.

This is similar to how you’d access Google voice assistant. However, since you can now replace it with ChatGPT voice via Nothing X, it’s a good alternative to have. But as mentioned above, it’s only for the new Nothing TWS earbuds that the company launched today.

Nothing Ear is a successor to Nothing Ear 2, whereas, Nothing Ear (a) is an affordable  TWS option. The former is priced at Rs 11,999 and the latter costs Rs 7,999. The new TWS earbuds bring features like 11mm drivers and an updated design for them. Some other notable highlights include 45 dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and long hours of battery.
